What is your role in the Service Center of Excellence?

I primarily maintain the Transportation and Parking, UNC Police and maps websites. I also get to do a bit of graphic design by creating most of the University parking passes.

What did you do before you came to the SCE?

I worked at the Kenan-Flagler Business School on an education game about cyber security as well as a data analytics app for the aviation industry: I got my name on a patent for that one!

Before that I worked at the virtual reality lab at Duke University making 3D environments and helping with different experiments that we would run in immersive 3D.

What is your favorite part of working at SCE?

I like how diverse the work is. I get to work on lots of different types of projects—sometimes on a daily basis!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Left to my own devices, it’s lots of reading, art projects and movies. However, I have a friend who is very into travel and unique experiences, so I get to go to some weird events. Our most recent excursion was a Babymetal concert in Virginia.

What is something people probably wouldn’t know about you, or another fun item you’d like to share?

One of the best volunteer jobs that I got to do was a stint at the Carnivore Protection Trust in Pittsboro while I was in high school. I got to spend a lot of time hanging out with the tigers and even got to bottle feed a little baby leopard!
