What year of school are you in and what is your major?
I’m a rising senior majoring in environmental science with a minor in geography.

How did you choose UNC?
It came down to two schools and I ended up going with my gut. I feel like I made the right call!

What is your favorite thing about being at UNC?
The energy. Certain moments like basketball games and fall fest and LDOC really highlight how vibrant and energetic Carolina students are. I love how everyone here is motivated, intelligent and accomplished. There’s no end to meeting new and interesting people.

Assuming you have some free time away from your studies, what do you do in that spare time?
I play intramurals (basketball, volleyball and soccer), find places to put up my hammock and read, and make music.

Where is your home, other than Chapel Hill?
Portland, Maine! Everyone should go! It’s awesome!

What is something you would like the staff (or anyone) to know about you, your interests and your hopes and dreams?
I love the environment wholeheartedly and my dream is to advance sustainable living in whatever manner I can. I also love traveling and have a massive list of all the places I want to visit! I studied abroad in Thailand last year and had a fantastic time seeing parts of the world I knew so little about!

What year of school are you in and what is your major?
I am a rising senior majoring in environmental studies on the sustainability track.

How did you choose UNC?
I’ve always loved the Tar Heels (despite my mom being a Blue Devil and my dad being in the Wolfpack). When it came to my final college decision, I saw UNC as the having the best opportunities for my variety of interests – I loved the wealth of academic and extracurricular activities I got to see when I visited. It seemed like a good mix of hard work and still being able to really enjoy college.

What is your favorite thing about being at UNC?
My favorite part of UNC is the people I’ve met here. I get to live with some of my best friends and be surrounded by support and encouragement. We’re all going through sometimes difficult semesters with classes, work and life but the people I’ve gotten to know because of this school have made it so much better than I could’ve imagined.

Assuming you have some free time away from your studies, what do you do in that spare time?
In my spare time I work as a gymnastics coach, and I also compete on the UNC Club Gymnastics team! I’m also a member of an all-women’s campus ministry called Delight where I get to lead and be surrounded by strong women who encourage me so well.

Where is your home, other than Chapel Hill?
I was born and raised in Raleigh, NC.

What is something you would like the staff (or anyone) to know about you, your interests and your hopes and dreams?
I am so passionate about sustainability and decreasing not only my personal impact on the planet, but helping others do that as well who may not have the same passions that I do. I’m hoping to move to Australia post-graduation for a couple of years to pursue a sustainability related career (if anyone has connections in Australia and could help me out with that, that would be amazing). I love traveling and really want to see more of the world.
