The frequency, creativity and severity of cyber-attacks we are seeing on our networks continues to increase. It is very important for Finance and Operations staff to understand the most common computer safety threats we encounter.

UNC-Chapel Hill students and employees are now required to complete an annual Information Security Awareness Training. The UNC ITS Security Office has produced an Information Security Awareness Training module to help you identify attacks early so you can protect yourself and your data.

The training module can be completed in 15-20 minutes and will help you recognize ways to keep University resources more secure. Currently, there is no due date for completing the training; however, you will receive periodic reminders until you do complete the training module. Statistics on the training completion will be provided to Finance and Operations managers and directors quarterly.

To Access and Complete the Mandatory Training:

  • Log in to ConnectCarolina and select Self Service.
  • From there, you will see a tile called Useful Links that contains a link to Security Awareness Training.
  • Or, you may also use this link: go.unc.edu/SecurityAwareness

If you encounter difficulty accessing the training, please contact the ITS Service Desk at 919-962-HELP. Thank you for helping to keep the University’s data safe!
