Jonathan Pruitt, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Operations

Vice Chancellor for Finance and Operations Jonathan Pruitt has been elected to the board of directors and will serve as the Council on Business Affairs Representative of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU).

The announcement was made at APLU’s annual meeting in San Diego in November.

APLU is a research, policy, and advocacy organization dedicated to strengthening and advancing the work of public universities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The association’s is made up of 242 public research universities, land-grant institutions, state university systems, and affiliated organizations.

Pruitt says he is looking forward to playing a role in guiding strategy and advocacy efforts in support of public higher education in North Carolina and around the country.

“It’s an honor to serve in this capacity for an organization like APLU,” said Pruitt. “It is more important than ever that leaders work to make public institutions of higher education more effective in delivering quality and affordable higher education.”

APLU’s mission is designed to expand access and improve student success to deliver the innovative workforce of tomorrow; advance and promote research and discovery to improve society, foster economic growth, and address global challenges; and build healthy, prosperous, equitable, and vibrant communities locally and globally.
