What is your role in the Service Center of Excellence?

My role primarily as an applications analyst is to help support and maintain the campus One Card system, focusing mostly on Micros Systems, the software used by all the registers in campus dining.

What did you do before you came to the SCE?

My responsibilities at UNC were very similar prior to our department becoming part of the SCE. However, before starting at UNC, I worked for an engineering firm in San Luis Obispo, California, performing a wide range of IT support.

What is your favorite part of working at SCE?

Since my desk is on central campus, I’m not over at the SCE more than once or twice per month. However, the group that I’m with is outstanding, both professionally and personally. There is a tremendous amount of knowledge within the Finance and Operations IT department and it’s a privilege to be part of such a wonderful team.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love being with my two sons, who are eight and five. I also enjoy long distance running, cooking and playing classic RPG (role playing) games as time allows.

What is something people probably wouldn’t know about you, or another fun item you’d like to share?

I am originally from central Illinois and received my undergraduate degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington and my master’s at DePaul University in Chicago.
