What is your role in the Service Center of Excellence?
I am a public communications specialist at the SCE. My job entails videography, photography and graphic design.
What did you do before you came to the SCE?
Before joining the SCE, I was the marketing and advertising manager for UNC Student Stores. I worked with a team of professionals and student interns to create the various advertising and merchandising sales campaigns the store used to promote itself and its products.
Why are you excited about joining the SCE?
I am excited to join the SCE, because it allows me the opportunity to continue using my design skills and talents to serve the University community. It’s not everyday that you get to serve the university in which you received your education and professional training.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time I like to play golf and tennis with friends. I was a tennis instructor for about 10 years, so it’s hard to find friends who want to play tennis with me. I enjoy watching television. I’m a huge fan of the show “Orphan Black.” Staying with the television theme, playing video games on my PlayStation 4 is incredibly entertaining. 2K Sports games (NBA, NHL, WWE) are the best!
What is something people probably wouldn’t know about you?
I have practiced Ta Sheng Pikua Men Monkey Kung Fu since 1998. I taught self-defense seminars once I became a senior Kung Fu student. Along those lines, I also practice Vinyasa Flow Yoga at least twice a week.
