Budget, Reporting and Analysis
The Budget, Reporting and Analysis services simplify the process of submitting requests for financial reporting, analysis and budget transactions. Service offerings include:
- Analysis & Forecasting
- Ad hoc Reporting
- Journal Entries: revenue and expense reclassification or cash allocations
- Budget Office Allocations
- Budget Journals and Transfers
- Personnel Actions
- Retroactive Changes (PAAT)
- Funding Changes (ePAR)
What You Will Need
- Detailed description of your request
- Backup documentation
- Purpose and detailed description of your request
- Chartfield string (4 segments: Fund/Source/Account/Department)
- Backup documentation
Completed Personnel Action Request Form
Submitting your Request
- Create Service Request
- Attach backup, if required
- Enter the total number of attachments and pages attached
Adding Additional Documents or Information to an Existing Request
- Go to https://help.unc.edu/
- Log in with your Onyen and password
- Click on My Submitted Requests
- Locate the request which you want to update
- Click on the Request Number to the left of the request
- Enter your update (Worklog and/or Upload Attachment) and click Finish
Initial Service Level Expectations
The average time required to process your request is as follows:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Financial Analysis and Ad Hoc Reporting – request update and estimated completion date provided within three business days
- Journal Entries – within three business days
- Budget Transactions
- Budget Analysis and Forecasting – request update and estimated completion date provided within three business days
- Budget Office Allocations – within one business day
- Budget Journals and Transfers – within three business days
- Personnel Actions
- Simple (one-ten pay periods) – within one business day
- Moderate (11-20 pay periods) – within two business days
- Complex (21-more pay periods) – request update and estimated completion date provided within three business days
