At the first Three Zeros Day: A Celebration of UNC Sustainability, more than 30 departments and student organizations showed off important sustainability work happening at Carolina and campus officials announced a new partnership and initiatives meant to get Carolina closer to its goals.

UNC-Chapel Hill was recently named a recipient of the 319(h) Grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for an ecological advancement project that will improve the quality of water in the runoff from campus.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ranks 28th among more than 200 participating colleges and universities nationwide, according to the Sierra Club “Cool Schools” annual sustainability report.

UNC-Chapel Hill staff, faculty, students and friends celebrated the opening of a new solar greenhouse at the Carolina Campus Community Garden on Friday, April 21, as part of the University’s Earth Week celebration.
