What is your role in the Service Center of Excellence?
I am a security technician at the Service Center of Excellence. In that role, I make sure our computers are up to date and secure to prevent security breaches so that our users’ information is safe. I am also responsible for providing technical support for any computer-related issues, whether it is answering questions, fixing things or setting up hardware.
What did you do before you came to the SCE?
I was a substitute teacher in Florida working towards becoming a technician lab teacher at my hometown middle school. I had an opportunity to move to North Carolina and apply my business information technology degree and ended up working at the SCE in my first month here.
What is your favorite part of working at SCE?
Although I love problem solving, my favorite part of working at the SCE is the work environment. It is such a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Since my role involves providing customer service, having great customers makes every interaction a happy one.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy playing with my four nephews, cooking, playing video games with my friends back home and learning new skills.
What is something people probably wouldn’t know about you, or another fun item you’d like to share?
I recently adopted two kittens: Kira and Raven. Kira looks like a Bengal cat and Raven enjoys sitting on my shoulder like a parrot.
