What is your role in the Service Center of Excellence?

I am Accounting Manager for the awesome Cost Accounting and Customer Billing team that supports Facilities Services and Energy Services, and I also serve as your Team Captain for Carolina Cares, Carolina Shares.

What did you do before you came to the SCE?

I served as the University Bursar for Elizabeth City State University with direct oversight of the Cashier’s Office, Student Accounts and Collections.

What is your favorite part of working at SCE?

My favorite part of working at the SCE is being in a collaborative environment full of friendly and knowledgeable professionals who always manage to bring breakfast on the days that I do not have time to stop. How awesome! Go Team!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I spend a great deal of time volunteering with various organizations and charities. There are several that you can find in this year’s Carolina Cares, Carolina Shares Giving Guide. I relocated from the northeastern part of the state where I served as a Girl Scout Troop leader for Girl Scouts, NC Coastal Pines, Troop 3009. I’ve served as a big sister for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, worked with the Boys and Girls Club of the Albemarle for various events over the last 20 years and last year ended a 15-year run as head cheerleading coach for various teams, but most recently with the Police Athletic League. I don’t believe that anything happens by chance and I’m honored that I was chosen to serve as your team captain for Carolina Shares. I truly believe sharing is caring whether it is done through a monetary donation or a gift of your time.

What is something people probably wouldn’t know about you, or another fun item you’d like to share?

I have visited every contiguous state except four: Montana; Wyoming; and the Dakotas. I hope to finish them up in the next two years.
