NC DOT plans to close a portion of South Greensboro Street to through traffic between Merritt Mill Road and Old Pittsboro Road in Carrboro. The road closure is expected to be in place for 60 days. A detour route will be marked with signage. The road will be open to local traffic between Main Street and the southern end of Old Pittsboro Road to enable access to residences and businesses in the area. Pedestrian travel through the work zone and access to adjacent properties will be accommodated throughout the duration of the project. The Chapel Hill Transit J bus route will be temporarily affected by the road closure, requiring changes to routes and stops. Travelers should consider W. Main Street and Merritt Mill Road as alternate routes to avoid the work zone. Bus route info is available, and full closure info can be found on the Town of Carrboro website.
